If you want to revisit the tron world after the movie( though the story line takes place before the movie does, FYI) this is a great game to buy for the preteens and up. I rated it 3 stars for the fun, though it gets old, the multiplayer mode(they didn't add splitscreen, but only online) is fast paced and takes some thought.
The story is hard to follow though for younger kids. This movie may not have the brightest story. You are one of the gladiators, and your task is to beat all your rivals and survive till the very end of the battle. The opponents throw edgy discs at each other and so they sort things out. And this movie should be rated PG-13 because while there is no blood or gore, the way that each person 'disintegrates' when killed could be quite intense for younger kids. This game will tell you a story about the gladiator wars of the future. There are some skimpy outfits worn by some of the female programs, though they only will show the midsection, at worse. While the special effects are truly impressive, the story didnt have much depth and emotion. This is nothing compared to any call of duty game, or even star wars:battlefront. When you "derezz" a "program" (fake people that were made as part of the world, that are only computer programs), they decentegrate and disappear. The game on story mode is clean in the way of language, but the violence can be kind of scary for younger kids.
Online, like anything on ps3, xbox, or pc,can get some language via voice chat, though, can easily be avoided if you take a few seconds to mute the other players.
